Small business owners and family operated businesses should protect their personal assets and create a business structure that will provide a foundation for growing a lasting business enterprise.

Washington State has seen many recent updates in the laws related to business organizations.  The Uniform Business Organizations Code updated the laws related to filing, reporting, entity naming, registered agents, dissolution, and reinstatement all types of entities and associations registering with the Secretary of State’s office, and consolidated these laws under the new section RCW 23.95.   Washington’s new Limited Liability Company Act under RCW 25.15, also effective in 2016, significantly amended how LLCs are managed and operate.
